Laura pic

Laura Cotner is the Girls Travel Director for Lisle Baseball Softball and oversees the Lisle Slammers. She has been involved with Lisle softball for about 15 years, initially coaching her twin daughter’s Slammers team from 12U through 18U, retiring from coaching in 2019. During her coaching years, she became director and took over the management of the Slammers with the vision of supporting not just girls’ sports but building community through sport and fostering an environment for young athletes to develop their love for the game through good sportsmanship and teamwork.

Growing up on the southside of Chicago, softball was at the heart of Laura’s youth, playing for her neighborhood teams with the highlight of playing in the 1980 Little League Softball World Series! To this day, you will find Laura spectating annually at the College World Series, Pro softball and many youth, high school and college games. Her heart is at the ball field.

Outside of softball, Laura is a proud mom of adult daughters, is an engineer, has designed many buildings throughout the country, and is currently a Professor of Engineering, Architecture and Construction Management. She enjoys helping students find their passions and pathways for lifetime fulfilling careers.
